Indian Super League is the major league in India. It is the men's highest level of the Indian football league system. ISL administrated by the All Indian football league Federation and commercial partner Football Sport Development Limited. The league currently comprises 12 clubs.

The season runs from September to March includes a 22 round regular season followed by playoffs involving the top six teams, ISL Final to select the champions. The Indian Super League (ISL) kicked of on October 12,2014. Indian Super League(ISL) first season winner is ATK Mohan Bagan FC. In ISL Kerala Blasters FC is the most fan based team. But Kerala Blasters are yet to win Indian Super League. In ISL most winner team is Mohan Bagan Super Giants. Now all-time top scorer is Bartholomew Ogbeche.
Currently, the league only follows promotion in the promotion and relegation process. ISL clubs gain qualification to the Asian continental club competitions, regular season premiers qualify directly for the subsequent season's AFC Cup group stage.
Since the league's inaugural season, six clubs have won the championship: ATK, Chennaiyin, Bengaluru, Mumbai City, Hyderabad and Mohan Bagan. since the introduction of the League Winner 's Shield in the 2019-2020 season, Mumbai City has won it twice, while Jamshedpur and Goa has won once each.
